It’s Cold at the TPW Headquarters…

Cold Toilet

Thank god for indoor plumbing!

It’s currently 22 degrees at the ToiletPaperWorld.com headquarters with 50mph winds. Days like this I am really thankful for indoor plumping- I would probably end up like this if we still used outhouses! Thanks to FunPho.com for the picture.

Site Update

Dec 7, 2009

It was a busy and exciting weekend at ToiletPaperWorld.com. Over the weekend, our site was temporarily closed from late Friday night until noon on Saturday to allow us to make some necessary updates and changes to our back-end system.

After months of hard work by our programmers and technical staff, we are pleased to report the updates were successfully completed and we were able to go-live as scheduled.

Once again, thank you again to all of customers for your patience during this update, your continued support and dedication to our site, and your continuous feedback. If it wasn’t for you, ToiletPaperWord.com would not be celebrating our 8th Anniversary this year!  As always, if you have any feedback on anything you would see on the site, here on the blog, on the Toilet Paper Encyclopedia or on the @ToiletPaperKing Twitter account, please don’t ever hesitate to contact us here.

Once again – THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Hello,

My name is Kenn Fischburg and I am the president of ToiletPaperWorld.com. First and foremost, I am writing to you today to express my utmost thanks and gratitude for your continued business. I sincerely appreciate your loyalty and support of ToiletPaperWorld.com.

At ToiletPaperWorld.com, we are continually working on ways to better serve our customers. I want you to be the first to know that in the coming months, there will be great improvements to all aspects of our website, from our website design and layout, all the way down to customer service. I cannot say thank you enough to those of you who took our survey last month. We have reviewed each and every response and I know you will be pleased to see many of your suggestions and requests implemented across the site.

Our first step in this improvement process will take place this weekend as we upgrade our back-end technology. In order for this upgrade to occur, ToiletPaperWorld.com will unfortunately be closed for business from 4 pm today, December 4th, until 5pm EST tomorrow, December 5th. This upgrade is a necessary step to helping ToiletPaperWorld.com run more efficiently. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

As we go through this improvement process, your feedback and thoughts continue to be my #1 priority. We are currently in the process of forming our first Customer Advisory Board- please Email Me if you would like to part of our this important group. We want to ensure the changes we are making will work for you.

Thank you again for your business and support. Please don’t ever hesitate to contact me with any request or comment. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Kenn

Ivy League Toilet Paper

Dec 4, 2009

What's in these dorm room stalls? 1 ply or 2 ply?

What's in these dorm room stalls? 1 ply or 2 ply?

As high school juniors & seniors across the select what college to attend for higher education, many factors play a role in this monumental decision. Where will I get the best education? Where will I enjoy my surroundings the most? How strong is the school’s community? What kind of toilet paper will there be in their restrooms? Is it one ply or two-ply?

As ridiculous as this question sounds, the issue is a subject of constant debate across many college campuses and even at American’s top Ivy League institutions. The issue was so important to students at Princeton University that the top candidates for Student Government President recently used the platform for a switch to 2-ply in university restrooms as a top campaign promises.

Advocates for the softer, more comfortable 2-ply toilet paper say the switch would meet the demands of the student body.  They also claim while the rest of the university suffers from harshness of 1-ply, many of the administrators’, president’s, and executive offices are actually stocked with the cushioner 2-ply.  In response to these claims, administrators argue switching the entire university to two-ply toilet paper goes against Princeton’s sustainability practices and would not make sense environmentally or economically.

Personally, it sounds as if this is a case of “Do as I say, not as I do.”.  If the administration isn’t willing to give up their 2-ply, I don’t think the rest of the student body should have to either.  And for the record, Harvard University made the switch to 2-ply a long time ago (back in 1998) and Yale followed suit a year later.  Both universities are miraculously still able to balance their budgets AND boast impressive sustainability programs. For example, Harvard is the leading buying of wind power in all of New England while six of Yale’s buildings and labs carry the prestigious LEED certification.

Cat vs. Toilet Paper – Amazing Video

Dec 1, 2009

I found this on YouTube yesterday and just couldn’t stop laughing – Watch as this cat skillfully unrolls an entire roll of toilet paper, then rolls it back up again! I still can’t believe it – this cat is great! I wonder if he prefers the roll under or over?
