ToiletPaperWorld Blog: Things We Love Series… Continued

As our readers know we here at ToiletPaperWorld love toilet paper, toilet paper rolls, and all of the fun things you can do with them!

We have several posts dedicated to practical application uses, DIY kids projects, and how to’s… including upcycling toilet paper rolls to art supply holders. The holders are probably the most favorited and shared project we feature, due to it’s popularity with teachers.

Recently while on the hunt for similar art friendly related projects we ran across these beautiful Gyotaku paintings done by a Connecticut artist, John Tolmie, and we just had to share!

According to Wiki, Gyotaku “is the traditional method of Japanese fish printing, dating from the mid-1800s. This form of nature printing may have been used by fishermen to record their catches, but has also become an artform on its own.”

Mr. Tolmie’s gallery of prints can be viewed on his website newenglandfishprints.com.
