April Fools Day Pranks Online
Apr 1, 2010
Happy April Fools Day to all Toilet Paper Blog Readers!
Just wanted to share with you some funny April Fools online pranks. Traditionally, April Fools Day pranks have included toilet papering (or Tping) unsuspecting people’s houses.
In honor of this funny practical joke, FarmVille, the popular online Facebook game, implemented the option of toilet papering barns. A free roll of toilet paper was given to every farmer. Users can pull toilet paper pranks on their neighbors’ barns.
Some states classify toilet papering as illegal, but others do not penalize toilet papering pranks. If you are looking for a hilarious prank for April Fools Day without the legal risks, try toilet papering on FarmVille. Thanks to FarmVille Freak for the post and pictures!
Google is also known for their April Fools Day pranks, including Google TiSP (short for Toilet Internet Service Provider). Google TiSP was a google hoax, a fictitious free broadband internet service that people could install themselves, accessible by flushing a fiber optic cable down a toilet connected to the local sewage system.
Larry Page was supposedly quoted in the official press release:
“We’ve got that whole organizing-the-world’s-information thing more or less under control,” said Google Co-founder and President Larry Page, a longtime supporter of so-called “dark porcelain” research and development. “What’s interesting, though, is how many different modalities there are for actually getting that information to you – not to mention from you.”
The Installation Instructions includes illustrated step by step instructions for self-installation, or offers professional installation service with free bathroom delivery. It even offered a TiSP Help Group for online help.
Whether you choose to pull an April Fools Day Prank online or not, I hope you enjoyed these funny pranks!

i did that to one of my neighbors on FV. it was hysterical though i don’t think they noticed.
I like that prank!
I don’t use farmville, (the sound of it doesn’t appeal to me at all) but I like that they keep up with the times and allow people to have a bit of fun with it online. Shame it’s also giving people ideas about what to do on April Fools’ Day!
At least virtual toilet papering is less costly and wasteful than a real life prank!
Your article illustrates many things. Thank you for sharing;)
Thats really funny giving all the farmers in farmville a free toilet paper. lol.
I wonder how literal someone would take getting TP’d over the internet…
I don’t use Farmville, but it sounds like a funny thing to have done. Some people take farmville WAY too seriously though.
This so funny. I hope I can do this for this years April Fools Day.
Good one
Hi! Thanks for reminding me for the fools day. Need to be ready
Don`t want to bet busted
This is something I’d have wanted to do!
So … April Fool’s this year is hilarious! My husband and I played a prank on our son — we made him think this girl from his school sent him a gift
ololo, that’s funny
I would have loved to have known about that Farmville trick. I have been getting tons of invites from friends and family to join that game. They do not seem to understand that by ignoring their invites, I’m saying no.
This trick would have been great to pull on them.
The only farming game I liked was harvest moon, haven’t tried the Farmville game yet!
Nice post content. Congratulations!
I am probably one of a handful of Facebook addicts who hasn’t even tried — let alone, come close to even thinking about trying — Farmville. So this is how influential and popular it has gotten? To have its very own April Fool’s prank!
If I accepted at least one of my 50+ Farmville invites, I’d probably be the butt of this joke.
Good prank idea. Thanks for sharing.
