Provon Soap

Nov 20, 2009

Happy 20th Anniversary to Provon Soap!

Happy 20th Anniversary to Provon Soap!

Not many products get us more excited than toilet paper, but given the current flu epidemic; Provon Soap has officially curbed our enthusiasm.  Provon Soap, manufactured by GOJO Industries (also the makers off Purell), was launched in 1989 and is marketed as a “cost-effective skin care product”.

Since its commencement twenty years ago, the brand has experienced much success and has racked up a die-hard customer base. In an industry where price points play a major role, this accomplishment is no small feat for a soap company.

Provon Soap offers a variety of products including soap dispensers and soap refills with formulas ranging from antimicrobial to sensitive skin, antibacterial to moisturizing, and even a foaming hair & body wash. According to Dave, a customer in Pennsylvania, “I’ve been using Provon for 15 years. It keeps my employees’ hands clean, sanitized, and healthy; and that little difference goes a long way in the office. Especially for that price, I wouldn’t ever consider switching.”

GOJO recommends pairing its Provon Soap products with its Purell Hand Sanitizing line to make a complete hand care solution.

Congratulations to Provon for its first successful twenty years – we wish you twenty more and thank you for making the world a cleaner, safer, and healthier place!

How To Make a Toilet Paper Turkey

Nov 18, 2009

With Thanksgiving a week away, its time to roll up your sleeves and help your kids make their favorite Thanksgiving Toilet Paper Turkeys!  This easy craft will allow your little ones to showcase their artwork this Thanksgiving. If you are having a less formal event, try having your child make a Toilet Paper Turkey for each guest and write his or her name on each one to use as a seating card.
Toilet Paper Turkey
Supplies:
-    1 empty toilet paper roll core
-    1 sheet of yellow, orange, brown & red construction paper
-    2 Googlie eyes
-    Scissors
-    Glue
-    Clear plastic tape

Steps
1.    Clean off the toilet paper core – make sure there are no toilet paper pieces left behind!
2.    Take the sheets of red, yellow, & orange paper and cut two 3.5” long tear drop shapes(tail) of each color giving you 6 feathers total.
3.    Take the brown sheet of paper and cut out a 5” round circle(turkey back), a 1.5” round circle (face), and a .75”x3.5” rectangle (neck).
4.    Take a scrap of the remaining yellow paper and cut a small triangle (nose).
5.    Assemble the feathers in alternating colors and fan them out so they look like the picture below.
6.    Glue the fan-outed feathers to the large brown circle.
7.    Glue the large brown circle (with feathers attached) to one end of the toilet paper core.
8.    Glue the 2 googlie-eyes and yellow beak onto the smaller round circle so it resembles a face.
9.    Glue the face to the brown rectangle neck.
10.    Place the neck up against the empty end of the toilet paper core. Take two small pieces of clear plastic tape and fasten the neck in place. (Hint: You really do need the tape here; the glue just doesn’t cut it).

Voila – All finished! Congratualations, you have successfully completed your first toilet paper turkey.  Hope these bring extra smiles to your Thanksgiving celebration this year!  From all of us here at ToiletPaperWorld.com, we wish you a happy, healthy, and safe Thanksgiving! Cottonelle Toilet Paper – Toilet Paper of the Week

Nov 17, 2009

If it's soft enough for him, its soft enough for me!

If it's soft enough for him, its soft enough for me!

And the winner of this week’s Toilet Paper of the Week goes to ….. Cottonelle Toilet Paper!  Cottonelle Toilet Paper has been awarded this highly regarded honor for its superb quality.  Born as a spinoff of Kleenex tissues, this premium toilet paper is comparable to the softness of their namesake’s tissues.

Why we love Cottonelle Toilet Paper

The softness of Kleenex Tissues, in the comfort of a roll of toilet paper
Anyone that has ever had a cold can attest to the fact nothing is more soothing than a soft tissue.  Now imagine the softness from the leading brand of premium tissues, rolled up in a roll of toilet paper. That’s exactly what you get with Cottonelle Toilet Paper – every sheet feels as if the manufacturers lined up a roll of tissues and stitched them together.

Premium quality toilet paper means less waste
While Cottonelle Toilet Paper may only be 1-ply, it has the softness and strength of a 2 ply roll.  This level of quality means your costumers will need half the amount of toilet paper as compared to private label brands, so you’lll end up saving money in the long run (and pleasing your costumer’s behinds!)

Space optimizing and zip-off case packaging

Its no secret we sell our toilet paper in bulk. One frustrating element for our customers is sometimes the storage of these bulk cases. Well the packaging experts at Cottonelle got it right when they designed these cases – the zip off top & individually wrapped rolls protects the rolls in storage and the entire cases is designed for space –saving.  Now all you’ll have to worry about it keeping your secret from your competitors!

Ready to experience the premium softness of this outstanding toilet paper? Visit ToiletPaperWorld.com for discounted rates off of our already reduced bulk prices on Cottonelle Toilet Paper. Disclaimer: We can’t guarantee you won’t become addicted!

Northern Toilet Paper – Products We Love

Oct 27, 2009

Perhaps we have these ladies to thank for Northern Toilet Paper!

Perhaps we have these ladies to thank for Northern Toilet Paper!

Recommending toilet paper is something I don’t take lightly. When the office staff sits down to select our favorites, it often turns into a heated debate about plys, thickness vs. softness, absorbency vs strength and so on.  This time around, there was a lot less arguing and a lot more agreeing. The reason? We all knew Quilted Northern Toilet Paper offered the perfect balance of softness and strength. Here are some other reasons why we love Northern Toilet Paper:

    100% Biodegradable
When we judge the environmental friendliness of any toilet tissue, the biodegradableness of the roll plays a huge impact and Northern passes with flying colors.

    Comfortable Thickness
Not only is it Soft & Strong like its names suggests, but its comfortable thickness is another feature we couldn’t praise more.

    Toilet Paper with a Cause
Since 2004, Northern Toilet Paper makers have donated over $500,000 to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation.  This honorable cause is the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors & activists to raise money for breast cancer research. Since its founding in 1982, the organization has raised over $1 billion to help wipe away breast cancer.

    Bulk Toilet Paper

    Oct 21, 2009

You can never have too much toilet paper!

You can never have too much toilet paper!

Why buy toilet paper in bulk? And why buy it online?

While a simple concept in theory – the more you buy, the more you save – buying in bulk still receives a lot of skepticism. And in certain cases, many people’s skepticism’s are actually truths. Studies have show that buying perishable or consumable goods for families doesn’t actually save you money in the long run, for most families you  simply just consume more.

But what about other, non-perisable, non-consumable goods? Will buying these items (such as toilet paper, cleaning products, etc.) save you money or convenience? In short, yes and yes. Here’s why:

You don’t consume more toilet paper just because you have it

Buying necessities in bulk (such as toilet paper) does save you money because its not something that if you have more of, you use more of. Its also not something you want to run out of and we know it doesn’t expire, so as long as you don’t have storage space dilemmas, it goes back to the simple principle of the more you buy, the more you save.

You are not tempted to buy non-necessities when buying in bulk online
Think about how many times you just need to stock up on toilet paper, but by the time you left the store, you had over $75 worth of goods in your cart. That’s one expensive roll of toilet paper at $75.  Whenever you add those ‘little extras’ into your cart, you’re spending money on products that you most likely don’t need. One of the many benefits of buying in bulk online is that your purchases become lean again – not only are you saving money by buying in bulk, but you’re also eliminating all those extras you don’t need.

It saves you time and effort – Your two most invaluable resources
When you are able to make your purchases or transactions online (think about how much you love online bill paying!) you get back to things you can’t put a price on – your time and your effort.  With one click of a button, all of those goods you can’t live without (toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, soap, dish detergent, laundry detergent, etc.) can be shipped to you FOR FREE. Think of how convenient it would be to get everything you need for an entire year with just one order?!

    Who invented paper towels?

    Oct 19, 2009

We can thank the Scott Paper Company for inventing "Towels You Don't Have to Wash"

We can thank the Scott Paper Company for inventing "Towels You Don't Have to Wash"

While it may seem like a rudimentary question, the answer is quite interesting.  Paper towels were invented thanks to a incorrect shipment, a school teacher’s unique approach to fighting her students’ colds, and a man full of innovative ideas.

It all started when a delivery to the Scott Paper Company was incorrect – the paper shipment (a whole railroad car full of it!) was too thick to use for toilet paper. Arthur Scott, in charge of the company at the time, was faced with a serious dilemna – send the paper back or find an alternative use for it.

Meanwhile, a teacher in the Philadelphia School District knew her students were exchanging unnecessary germs every time they went to get toilet paper to blow their nose. To help eliminate this problem, she started giving them soft paper so they wouldn’t have to keep touching the roller towel in the toilets.

Scott had learned about this situation prior to the deliver of the too-thick paper and saw the defect paper as a chance to market a product similar to the teacher’s solution. He sold the paper as small, perforated towel-sized like sheets, calling them disposable paper towels. The product was such a success, Scott was soon selling his invention (renamed as the “Sani-Towel”, short for the Sanitary Towel) to restaurants, hotels, and railroad stations for their public bathrooms.

Later, in 1931, Scott saw an expanded use for his Sani-Towel in the kitchen, so he officially introduced the world’s first “paper towels” – a sheet a perforated, soft paper, on a roll in sheets of 13” x 8”.

And while we can’t imagine our life today without this essential household product, it surprisingly took a while before the generation popular took a liking to paper towels. People had a hard time grasping the concept of “Towels you don’t have to wash”.

So there you have it – a railroad car, a school teacher, and a true innovator led to the invention of paper towels in 1931.

How to Prevent Swine Flu during Back to School Season

    Aug 18, 2009

Keep your kids smiling all year round with these flu safety tips!

Keep your kids smiling all year round with these flu safety tips!

Kids (and parents!) have one more reason to dread going back to school this year – fear of contradicting the dreaded swine flu (H1N1) virus, especially given the fact the highest number of swine flu cases occurred in those between the ages of 5-24. Luckily, since schools broke for the summer last May, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) has learned much more about the H1N1 virus and has published a new list of precautions that if followed, will significantly reduce the chances of another outbreak from occurring and will also keep students (and teachers) safely in the classroom. Follow the steps below to ensure a healthy and happy school year for all:

Stay home for at least 24 hours even after flu-like symptoms disappear
Once the symptoms of the flu disappear (fever, nausea, etc.) remain home for at least an additional 24-hours. Just because you feel 100%, doesn’t mean the flu has disappeared 100% from your body. Give it an extra 24 hours to be safe. Additionally, children under 5 years old and children in high-risk, high-contact facilities (daycare or childcare) should give themselves additional time to fully recover.

    Practice good hand hygiene
The quickest and fastest way to spread the flu is through hand contact. Wash hands with soap & water for AT LEAST 20 SECONDS; especially every time you cough or sneeze. Teach your children to sing “Happy Birthday” to themselves twice when washing their hands as a good rule of thumb for a 20-second time frame.

    Use Alcohol-based Hand sanitizers
The best hand cleaners are alcohol-based and contain at least 60% alcohol, such as Clorox Instant Hand Sanitizer.  If the school’s policies do not allow alcohol based hand cleaners, alternative sanitizers should still be used, such as Care Wipes Alcohol-Free Wipes, however they will not be as effective.

    Wipe ALL surfaces with disinfectants
Keyboards, doorknobs, and table tops are just a few of the most common places the flu virus can be spread from if touched. Therefore, these surfaces should be disinfected routinely. Try Clorox Disinfecting Wipes to easily tackle this important task.

    Toilet Paper of the Future

    Aug 3, 2009

futureoftoiletpaperLooking back into the dark ages, toilet paper has come a long way.  However,  despite some minor changes and product advancements, it thankfully hasn’t changed much over the years.  Sure, Quilted Northern now markets a 3-ply roll and colored toilet paper is rare to come by, but overall, our trusted friend is still the same – soft, square sheets on a roll.

What do you think toilet paper of the future will look like?  Square bunches? Hard and scratchy?

Jeeze, we hope not.  To all those that say change is good – think again on your next trip to the John,
