Apparently, the janitors became suspicious after they noticed 200 rolls had gone missing over a period of time.  The proactive property manager hid in a bathroom stall one evening, and caught the pilfering politician, 23 year old Frank-Michael John, with toilet paper rolls in his backpack and one in his hand. 

Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be information available on why he is stealing toilet paper – is he a very low paid politician and couldn’t afford it?  Do we write this off as simple office antics?  Sadly, we may never have an answer to this puzzling piece of the pilfering politician.

Though Chimp’s toilet paper (a blogger from Planet of the Chimp) has grown smaller, he still has remained loyal to his toilet paper brand- Scott. He wrote to Kimberly-Clark asking why the toilet paper is smaller and received this response:

Chimp continues to buy Scott toilet paper, stating that, “it still seems to last longer than the “soft” tissues…Don’t like the real soft ones as I feel the harsher ones clean better.” He also uses moist wipes at home.

Seniors from Rockcastle County High School in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky wrote to us about their Toilet Paper Challenge. The UNITE Club, part of a federal program fighting the war on drugs, sponsors a football bowl game and challenges the opposing team to collecting the most toilet paper to donate to drug treatment centers in Kentucky.

Students are making daily Toilet Paper Updates on the school morning announcements using facts from our own Toilet Paper Encyclopedia!

Last year, about 2,000 rolls were collected for donation. This year, Rockcastle County High School has a goal of 3,000 rolls of toilet paper.

Their challenge ends Friday September 24, 2010.

CapeCodOnline.com recently ran a story about how the Provincetown Art Association and Museum tried to discourage use of their public restrooms by removing town signage. Public works employees have restored the restroom signs.

After a summer resident was denied bathroom access, a complaint letter was sent to the town. The Water and Sewer board warned the museum that they were violating their sewer permit and to fix the problems.

Other Provincetown public restrooms are in town owned buildings. The museum’s executive director Chris McCarthy complained that a non-profit organization shouldn’t be included in the town’s public restroom system without funding assistance. He estimated that 8,000 people in the summer season came to the museum only to use the restrooms, costing $1,100 annually for maintenance and supplies.
