Since November of last year, over 30 portable toilets have been set on fire in San Francisco, resulting in over $50,000 worth of property damage. So far the arsonist has not been caught.

But now, Clorox is on the criminal’s trail. Clorox has teamed with the San Francisco Mayor’s Office and S.A.F.E. to initiate  ”Operation Flush the Outhouse Arsonist” and listed a $5,000 reward and a years supply of toilet products for information leading to the arrest of the arsonist.  

“As the nation’s leader in toilet cleaning and a local company, Clorox feels strongly that toilets and bathrooms should be cleaned, not destroyed…especially in our own backyard,” said Dan Gagen, marketing manager for the Clorox Family of Toilets Products. “You could say that it’s a crappy job, but somebody’s got to do it.

Clorox Family of Toilet Products is also deploying a Potty Patrol on Tuesday, March 24 that will be stationed on the streets of San Francisco to distribute information about the effort and details on how residents can plunge into action. (See details below).
