Don't microwave your toilet paper! What is the strangest thing you've ever tried to microwave?

Don’t put your toilet paper in the microwave. Even if you dropped the last roll in the toilet when you were trying to put it on the dispenser and you really need it dry so you can use it RIGHT NOW because you have a phobia of using public restrooms. Even if there are no tissues, napkins, or any other paper-like substance left in your entire house or apartment. I can only imagine that this was the emergency situation that led to putting a wet roll of toilet paper in the microwave, according to this article in the Arizona Daily Star. The toilet paper roll in the microwave left several hundred dollars worth of smoke damage and a visit from the fire department.

Just don’t microwave your toilet paper! What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever tried to microwave?

If you’re a Nascar fan, be sure to look for the Charmin ads featuring the backside of white men’s briefs with tire skid marks.

“It’s a creative use of their product with a natural tie-in to the sport. It’s fun,” Dan Farrell, CMS’s senior vice president of corporate sales, told the Sports Business Journal. “It’s important to have recall with creative, and I’m sure there will be a buzz and the recall will be second to none for this.”

Skid marks are a far cry from the Mr. Whipple ads that Charmin is famous for. Although many toilet paper ads use humor, this seems on the grosser side of humor. What do you think of this promotion idea for Charmin?

Choose your toilet paper: Wausau toilet paper review to help you choose!

Today we feature a post from our customer service representative, Lynn! I know it can be difficult to make your toilet paper decisions with such a large array of products to choose from; hopefully this review of standard toilet paper rolls will help.

Wausau Toilet Paper Review

First, it was nice to see rolls that are 4.375 inches in length. The standard used to be 4.5 x 4.5 inches but with the increased cost of paper and the push to be more environmentally responsible most companies have cut the rolls to 4 inches. Wausau did cut the length, but not by much. The sheet sizes range from 3.75 to 4 inches in length, BUT they put 500 sheets per roll on the 2ply and 1000 sheets a roll on the 1ply. It really looks like a nice full roll. The Eco Soft Green Seal, Eco Soft and the Dubl Nature are 100% recycled content while the Dubl Soft premium tissue is a virgin product.

EcoSoft Green Seal – A recycled toilet paper that comes in 1 and 2 ply, embossed for softness and strength. The embossing is especially noticeable in the 1 ply tissue; there are a lot of one ply papers out there that do not have this feature and they are too delicate. This tissue is an economic and eco-friendly alternative to toilet paper made from 100% virgin pulp for home use or commercial institutions.

Eco Soft - Has the same features as the EcoSoft Green Seal and is available in 1 and 2 ply. This bathroom tissue is also a brighter white color, while the green seal is an off white color. A whiter toilet paper may be beneficial in commercial settings like restaurant bathrooms or hotels where the bright white color will lend a cleaner, fresher appearance.

Dubl Nature Green Seal- Is a “step up” from the EcoSoft lines in thickness and appearance but is only available in 2 ply. It is softer and stronger than the EcoSoft 2 ply papers. The flower embossed pattern adds a touch of class, which makes this toilet tissue a solid choice for offices and hotels/motels.

Dubl Soft – This is the premium 2 ply toilet tissue. It is the softest toilet paper of the four lines, as well as the thickest. It is comparable to other name brand luxury tissues and is perfect for more upscale settings like B&B’s or guest bathrooms.

Among Beyonce’s Tour demands are a new toilet seat for her dressing room bathroom and red toilet paper, according to E!

I must agree, she is genius for requesting a new toilet seat. That would get rid of the disposable toilet seat cover issue.

Red toilet paper is hard to find in the US, but you can buy it online. Colored toilet paper is not sold in regular stores anymore because of a decrease in sales and rising costs of production. Read more about colored toilet paper here.

Do you use disposable toilet seat covers in public bathrooms? Should automatic toilet seat covers be trusted?

Do you use a disposable toilet seat cover in public bathrooms? I prefer to use the hover method, myself. But it is nice to have them available in the bathroom, it gives at least an illusion of cleanliness.

The bathrooms at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT have an automatic moving toilet seat cover that always freaks me out just a little bit. It’s a great idea to provide a toilet seat cover that you don’t have to touch, although you do need to touch a button (you can also wave your hand over the motion sensor, but I am notorious for having issues with these).

But how do I know where the toilet seat cover is coming from? It seems like it potentially could just be going around in a circle, providing a different part of the cover, like an infinite towel loop that bathrooms used to have (ick!)

Upon further research, I discovered that there is actually a clean side coming from one side of the toilet and the used toilet seat cover is collected on the other side, so it can then be disposed of. So hey, infinity toilet seat cover, you’re pretty smart!
