Horror Novel to Be Printed on Toilet Paper
May 28, 2009
Japanese horror writer Koji Suzuki, best known as the author of The Ring, has teamed up with Hayashi Paper Corp to create a frightening and bizarre bathroom reading experience. Yes – it’s a horror story, but it’s printed on something that you wouldn’t expect.
Suzuki’s new novel, Drop, will be printed on a single roll of toilet paper. The story takes place in a public restroom, and is about an evil spirit that lives in a toilet bowl. Inspired by traditional Japanese stories that served to teach children not to misbehave in the bathroom, the novel appeals to the childhood fear of being snatched away by an evil water presence. Sounds scary, right?
The entire novel is approximately three feet long, and can be read in a few minutes, making it a very accessible story for all Japanese households. Not to mention, this new endeavor could revolutionize the way that we read…or at least read in the bathroom.

thanks for the great read!
That is a really bizarre but extremely creative idea for a book. I hope the offer a standar paperback version at some point!
Great idea. This will eliminate the need to bring in your own reading material.
This would be the first experience to read a horror story which is written in a single roll of toilet paper. It seems to be really interesting and thrilling. I am looking forward to read the story. Thank you for updating.
