The Toilet Paper Encyclopedia
Jun 3, 2009
When my father launched ToiletPaperWorld.com in 2001, a PR company suggested he write a short history of toilet paper as a marketing ploy….well, the King of Toilet Paper doesn’t take his top product lightly.
This short blurb turned into a much bigger deal. From history dating back to ancient China, to detailed descriptions and comparisons of the t
op toilet paper manufacturers, to funny stories about this bathroom supply, more and more information was added. Finally it grew so large, it needed to be hosted on it’s own separate website- hence the Toilet Paper Encyclopedia was born.
There is a TON of great information on this site. Whether you’re doing research for a project or just filling up some spare time in between trips to the throne, check it out. See something you think is interesting that’s not on the site or have questions about anything toilet paper? Shoot my dad, Kenn, an email here. He loves to talk about TP. You can only imagine what bring your dad to school day was like for me growing up….

I thought I had seen it all but clearly not! lol. Mind you i have had a look on the site and its definitely interesting. I will stun my drinks guests with my knowledge of ancient toilet paper
Here’s my question- with all the advancements in technology and toiletries these days, why do some places still use the weird single sheet, like a paper towel-type TP?
That’s a great question! Here’s the official answer from the Toilet Paper King, Kenn Fischburg:
Single sheet tp is considered easier to use for some people. It is already cut and some handicapped people find it easier to use. Some handicapped people find regular roll tp difficult to ‘pull and tear’. Also, some hospitals consider pre-cut tp as more sanitary because the user will never have to worry about someone else touching the other sheets on the roll. Also, in the orthodox Jewish segment, it is against the Jewish law to ‘cut paper’ on the Sabbath, therefore pre-cut sheets are mandatory. Finally, there may have been existing dispensers in place that simply never got changed.
Kimberly Clark launched a new version of pre-cut sheets of tp a few years ago. They call it a Hygienic toilet paper for use in areas that want to avoid cross contamination, such as hospitals and nursing homes. The quality of the tp is excellent.
Pre cut sheets of tp are very easy to use and as long as the quality is good there will be demand.
I love this blog, its really nice website for me. thanks dear
What an interesting website! Did anyone see the show about the woman who was eating toilet paper? Why do I have a feeling that she already knows about toiletpaper world?
