Toilet Paper Mousetrap!
Jan 18, 2010
Here at ToiletPaperWorld.com, we are very animal friendly. Often times our employees bring thier dogs to work. So when I saw this great idea for a “no-kill” mousetrap, I just had to repost it! We have had problems with mice before in my house and I have resorted to using the more traditional traps, but this one is safe and easy.
- Get a toilet paper tube and crease two lines to form a flat sided tunnel.
- Put a treat on one end of the tube: A cracker and dab of peanut butter works great.
- Get a tall (at least 20 inches) bucket. A trash can works well.
- Balance the tube precariously on the edge of a table or counter with the treat hanging directly over the tall sided receptacle.
- The mouse will scurry to the treat (they like tunnels) and fall into the trap.
- Then you can release the mouse far from your house!
Thanks to LifeHacker.com for the idea!

Genius and safe! I wonder if this would work for other pests and bugs.. Thanks for the idea! This should be sold in stores
Great illustration and a safe way to getting those little mice out of your hair. So creative that I wonder if this has worked for anyone in the past.
I need to make this!! I heard some scuffling last night and this morning I saw what I thought. It FREAKED me out and left the trouble with my husband. Thanks for the idea and hope it works!
i think this one is a good mouse trap. i would usually do trapping mouse in a fly paper and i would sometime feel guilty. thanks for the good advice.
Cute graphic! You mentioned that you bring your dogs to work a lot, just makes me curious how big your office is? For some reason I didn’t think ToiletPaperWorld.com would have a lot of employees but now I am curious what your offices are like. but I am just weird like that.
I don’t suppose this would work with rats though…they’re pretty fat. I used to take toilet paper tubes and make playgrounds for my pet hamsters, they loved it! After a while they’d get bored running through the mazes and start to tear up the tubes for nests, though.
That is really cleaver and inexpensive! Great Idea!
